Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday signed a mobilization order for the training of the armed forces, the first order of the Central Military Commission (CMC) in 2021.

中国国家主席习近平4日签署中央军委2021年1号命令，向全军发布开训动员令。

Signed by Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the CMC, the order stressed strengthening military training in real combat conditions and the ability to win.

中共中央总书记、中央军委主席习近平签署的这项命令强调，全面提高训练实战化水平和打赢能力。

The order urged the armed forces to enhance training in real combat conditions to ensure combat readiness at all times.

命令要求全军深化实战实训，确保全时待战、随时能战。

It called for efforts to be made for joint operations in combat and training, highlighting training under joint command, as well as training across the fields and services.

深化联战联训，突出联合指挥训练，突出跨领域跨军兵种联合专项训练。

It also urged efforts to largely improve the use of technology in training and guide the training in accordance with the law.

命令还要求深化科技强训，深化依法治训。

All officers and soldiers of the military should strengthen their willpower to fight, improve their skills, and resolutely accomplish the missions and tasks entrusted by the Party and the people in the new era to welcome the CPC centenary with outstanding achievement, according to the order.

Alibaba Group announced Tuesday that it will close down its streaming platform Xiami Music on Feb. 5.

阿里巴巴集团5日宣布将关闭其音乐流平台虾米音乐。

Xiami Music will cease operations due to “business development-related adjustments,” the company said in an official statement posted to social media, thanking its fans. The message concluded: “After 12 years of being together, it’s very hard to say goodbye.”

China's Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST), the world's largest single-dish radio telescope, will be available for global service from April 1.

世界最大的单口径射电望远镜、我国500米口径球面射电望远镜（FAST）将于4月1日正式对全球科学界开放。

The National Astronomical Observatories of China of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the operator of the telescope, confirmed Monday scientists across the world can make online appointments to use the device for observation from April 1. An allotted timetable will be available by Aug 1.

Located in a deep and round karst depression in Southwest China's Guizhou province, FAST is believed to be the world's most sensitive radio telescope. It started formal operations on Jan 11, 2020.

Chinese education authorities will spot check undergraduate theses once a year to prevent plagiarism and ghostwriting, according to a trial guideline issued by the Ministry of Education.

根据教育部近日印发的《本科毕业论文（设计）抽检办法（试行）》，为防止剽窃和代写，国家教育部门将对本科毕业论文进行每年一次抽检。

Provincial-level education administration departments should randomly pick theses of those awarded a bachelor's degree in the previous academic year, the guideline noted.

《办法》指出，省级教育行政部门应随机抽检上一学年度授予学士学位的论文。

It added that the volume of spot-checked theses should be no less than 2 percent.

抽检比例应不低于2%。

Universities and colleges that are found to have a relatively high number of problematic theses for two consecutive years will be required to cut their admissions and make rectifications. Authors of the problematic theses will have their degrees revoked, according to the guideline.

据《办法》规定，对连续2年均有“存在问题毕业论文”，且比例较高或篇数较多的高校，省级教育行政部门将减少其招生计划，并提出整改要求。对问题论文的作者，高校将撤销已授予学位。
