[International Travel] Quarantine Time Reduced to 7+3

The Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council held a press conference at 3 PM on June 28th, and issued the "Protocol for Prevention and Control of COVID-19 (9th Edition)" on the official website of the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China.

The quarantine period of international arrivals and close contacts is adjusted from "14-day centralized quarantine observation + 7-day home health monitoring" to "7-day centralized quarantine observation + 3-day home health monitoring".

The PCR test measures have been adjusted from "PCR tests should be carried out on the 1st, 4th, 7th and 14th day of centralized quarantine, through collecting nasopharyngeal swabs, and double sampling and double testing should be performed before the quarantine is lifted" to "PCR tests should be carried out on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 7th day of centralized quarantine, through collecting oral and pharyngeal swabs", and double sampling and double testing will not be required before the quarantine is lifted.

In addition, control measures of close contacts are adjusted from "7-day centralized quarantine observation" to "7-day home health monitoring", and PCR tests should be carried out on the 1st, 4th and 7th days.
