After more than four months, the US State Department on Thursday lifted its advisory warning US citizens against traveling abroad.

当地时间8月6日，美国国务院解除了4个多月前针对美国公民发布的全球旅行警告。

The department issued the Level 4: Do Not Travel advisory -- the highest level of travel advisory -- on March 19, urging US citizens not to travel overseas due to the coronavirus pandemic.

3月19日，美国国务院发布了“第四级全球旅行警告”，为旅行警告的最高级别，建议美国公民因新冠疫情而避免所有国际旅行。

However, "(w)ith health and safety conditions improving in some countries and potentially deteriorating in others, the Department is returning to our previous system of country-specific levels of travel advice." a Thursday note from the State Department said. “We continue to recommend U.S. citizens exercise caution when traveling abroad due to the unpredictable nature of the pandemic.” it also said.

Zhong Nanshan, a prominent infectious disease expert, has been nominated for a highly prestigious honor for his outstanding contribution to fighting the COVID-19 epidemic in China, according to a notice released on Monday by a working committee on Party and State medals and honorary titles. The committee recommended Zhong to receive the Medal of the Republic this year. Zhong is a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the National Clinical Research Center for Respiratory Disease.

Police in Menghai county, Yunnan province, confirmed on Tuesday a female college student from Nanjing of Jiangsu province, who had been reported missing for 24 days as of Monday, was killed by her boyfriend and two other accomplices.

云南省勐海县警方4日证实，一名来自江苏南京的女大学生被其男友伙同两人杀害。截至8月3日，该女生已失踪24天。

The student, Li Qianyue, was lured by the two friends of her boyfriend into going to a forest in the county's suburb on July 9 before she was killed and buried at the site. Her boyfriend and his two friends made the plan before she traveled to Menghai, according to local police.

7月9日，李倩月在其男友两个朋友的诱骗下，进入了县城郊外的森林中，随后被杀害埋尸。当地警方表示，其男友伙同两人在李倩月去勐海之前就制定了犯罪计划。

Li's father reported his daughter’s disappearance to Nanjing police on July 13.

7月13日，李倩月的父亲就女儿失踪向南京警方报案。

The case is still under investigation.

Zhong Fangrong, a high school graduate in central China's Hunan Province, applied to Peking University and chose archaeology as her major after she scored 676 out of 750 in the national college entrance examination, also known as the gaokao.

Opinions online are split over the young village girl's choice. Some expressed admiration and support for her, while some commented that it was a pity that she wasted the high score choosing an "unpopular" major.

In a letter replying to the highly regarded Chinese archaeologist Fan Jinshi, the honorary president of the Dunhuang Academy, Zhong expressed her desire to follow her heart, as Fan had done.

钟芳蓉在给德高望重的中国考古学家、敦煌研究院名誉院长樊锦诗的回信中表示，希望能追随樊锦诗的脚步，也希望找到心灵的归处。

When her decision to study archaeology was reported in the media, Fan sent Zhong her biography and a letter encouraging her to stay true to her dreams.
